Government Payments and Appeals – Disability Support Pension

Advocacy WA offers a customised level of service to people living with disability seeking support to apply for the Disability Support Pension.

The Disability Support Pension (DSP) is an income support payment from Centrelink for people who cannot work, due to a permanent physical, intellectual, or psychiatric impairment. The DSP provides an income for everyday living costs like rent, bills, food, or anything else you need or want.

From new applications to appeals our service options include:

  1. Individually customised information packs to help you go ahead with your own application.
  2. Individually customised advice on the next steps you might take with your application.
  3. One-to-one assistance from one of our advocates to appeal a Centrelink decision.
  4. Community group information sessions, to share general information, application requirements and strategies.
  5. Combining two or more of these - based on each individual’s level of confidence and capability.

This customised approach helps Advocacy WA to always:

  • Promote choice and control
  • Empower without overwhelming
  • Minimise unnecessary waitlist delays
  • Assist more clients, faster while ensuring each one feels supported and listened to.

We accept both self-referrals and agency referrals.
