Business Accessibility Workshop a Success at Mantra Bunbury Lighthouse

Advocacy WA welcomed almost 70 participants to the Bunbury Business Accessibility Day on 30 May at Mantra Bunbury Lighthouse.  Participants from a wide range of South West businesses and services enjoyed a full day of top class training.  Jethro Hepton, Chair of Advocacy WA welcomed the Hon Don Punch who opened the day with a speech congratulating the community for their commitment to learning more about digital and physical accessibility.  The morning session, which focussed on digital accessibility was delivered by Scott Hollier from the Centre for Accessibility Australia.  After a catered lunch, the afternoon session was delivered by Sara Gunning with the assistance of Lorelei Giorgio, and focussed on premises accessibility and improving customer service for people with disability. Participant feedback was overwhelmingly positive including:

“Fantastic session – so valuable and presented well”

“So good! Thanks for a really valuable day”

“The presenters were straightforward, humorous and easy to engage with”

“Very interesting. The presenter was engaging, informative and knowledgeable. Session was packed with real life examples that covered enough to give us a starting point to asking more questions, assessing our own service/premises/processes and making improvements”
